Sustainable furniture, thoughtfully designed and traditionally handmade in solid wood, to sit happily in your home, at the centre of family life. Be it a sturdy table for Sunday lunch or a hardworking coffee table to rest your feet on at the end of the day. Made in Derbyshire at our family-run workshop, we take the time to craft each piece so that it lasts as long as the memories you make upon it.
THE HEART OF DERBYSHIRE
Nestled in the heart of the Derbyshire Dales near the spa town of Matlock, the Willen Rose workshop is home to a working collection of vintage woodworking machines. Run by husband and wife team David and Sharne alongside a close-knit band of passionate suppliers and makers. We make our furniture locally here in the Peak District and deliver nationwide.
OWNER MAKER DAVID
Owner maker David has over 30 years of expertise in the furniture industry, using traditional techniques to build beds, tables and storage pieces at his Derbyshire workshop using sustainable pine, oak, ash and reclaimed wood alongside British fabricated steel, giving each design a unique aesthetic.

We use a traditional build starting with seasoned timber of less than 10% moisture, which we handpick from trusted suppliers who we have used for decades.

Made with solid character grade oak and Canadian Timber with all the knots and shakes in the wood on show giving each piece of furniture lots of interest, sanded to perfection and finished with 3 coats of hard-wax oil.

As passionate furniture makers we keep traditional making at the heart of what we do, our ever growing collection of vintage woodwork machinery such as this Wadkin are used daily to create our collection of solid wood furniture.
WHAT TO EXPECT
When you order a piece of solid wood furniture from us you’ll wait around 6-12 weeks for a handmade piece that will last for years. We use a traditional 6-step build starting with seasoned timber which we handpick from trusted suppliers who we have used for decades. Working with industry friends and like-minded makers that align with the Willen Rose ethos both in the UK and Europe, David draws upon years of connections to add more complex items to the range, such as handcrafted beds and drawers.

MAKE UP YOUR MIND
We don't do things by halves and that includes the Willen Rose sample service. When you order a sample from us, expect a proper slab of the actual timber used to make your furniture. Cut and hand-finished at our Derbyshire workshop.
